The worst, most disappointing game for me of all times for would have to be Vandal Hearts 2.

Oh my god, what a train wreck. I saw reviews saying it was deeper and more interesting than Final Fantasy Tactics, PSX, (one of my favorite games of all time) and was inspired to buy it.

Horrible idea. For starters I was imediately turned off by the graphics, I wasnt expecting much considering it was a tactical game on the psx, but the portraits looked like they were done on the NES. It was also rated M, for a laughable death animation showing a fountain of blood.

Oh well, I can move beyond graphics. The Story was completely convoluted, also to be fair its one of the few games that I couldnt finish. I wish I could say it was good or bad. It looked like it had potential but not enough. Lots of betrayals and the like.

The character development system was also very poor. Basically all the abilities are tied to weapons and can be moved from one weapon to another. The catch is, you dont have very much as far as slots and you spend a bunch of rounds walking around waiting for your weapon to level up. Oh yeah, which reminds me of how god awful the combat system was. Seriously who thought it was best to have simultainous turns. basically you have two characters moving to attack each other but instead swinging at air.

Although it didnt matter because every fight involved being surrounded by basically the same squads every single time, except in a different map.

I can't believe I spent so many hours on it. I just really wanted it to be a good game.

but the most disapointing game? Is probably either NFL Quarterbackclub 2000/2001 or Turok 2 seeds of Evil. Hell I guess anything made by Acclaim late '99 and beyond was nothing but crap pretty much (Except for Extreme-G III)

Honerable Mention: Raiders of the Lost Ark 2600. Never have found a working cart.

I've played a few truly bad games in my time. But my first experience with a bad game came before I even owned a video game console.

My parents rented a NES for my brother and I. We got SMB 1 and 2 (even as a five year old, I knew that you could depend on Mario being fun), a few other games and Ghostbusters.


As an important side note, I loved Ghostbusters. Loved them. It was the first thing I was ever obsessed with. My dad even made me a proton pack out of a javex bottle, and I would walk around the house in footsy pajamas and elbow pads with this bottle strapped to my back.

But somehow, as though influenced by some perverse, dark magick, the Ghostbusters Video Game ... sucked. How can you combing the two most amazing things in the universe and end up with something that one of Gozer's dogs ralphed up?!

It wasn't easy for my young mind to comprehend. I couldn't quite put into words how something so assuredly cool could be so lame.


So instead I just played the crap out of the Mario games.

I don't think this thread will hit the 2nd page without someone saying FFVII, which will invitably lead to someone saying "not it's not, it's the BEST EVAH", and this thread will turn into a "which FF is best" thread before you know it.

The worst game I've ever gaved a damn about was Shaq-Fu. Even Clay Fighters was better than that shit. At least CF had a sense of humor.

See, thats why I added the why question. Rather than have it degenerate, I would rather have people say why they feel that way about the horrible games.

(btw the way, I played all the way through Shaq-fu. It has a horrible rap. I am not really sure why but then again I played it when i was a kid. it wasnt grea but I dont remember it being as bad as the internet says so>=)

Suikoden V for the PS2, it'd take me at least an hour to find the next location in order to move on, and loading a battle takes more than 5 secs. May not seem as much, but I got impatient at times.
