It reminded me a lot of City of God, and as I mentioned before I think that movie is also overrated (not to say it didn't have plenty of good qualities to it, it just doesn't deserve to be in the IMDB Top 50 where it currently is).
Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon were better movies, IMO. Its fair to say that Slumdog was better than Doubt, The Wrestler, The Reader, and Milk, although that is certainly debatable for anyone of those movies (except maybe The Reader, a bit overrated as well except for Kate Winslet's part).
This year was frankly a tough year to pick winners on, although Slumdog did pull through as many expected it would. But there were several big surprises, like Milk winning several awards and Frost/Nixon not getting any.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. What? Hardly anyone i know even knows of that movie.

I wonder if the TV show was any good.
I hardly ever watch the films that win best Picture of the Year Academy Award. They are usually some boring drama that make me fall asleep.
I prefer watching films with action, horror or comedy rather than deep dramas.

Agreed. Benjamin Button was way better and should have won Best Picture imo!
I haven't seen it. My parents liked it though. I saw Benjamin Button and that was a great movie.

Honestly, I didn't hear about the movie except after the Oscars. I really don't feel like watching it.
