I ordered the two GBA Advance Wars games from Random Online Retailer (TM) -- I got a good discount, too -- but due to a post office mixup I didn't receive it for over a month. (And the game boxes were pretty banged up in transit; thankfully the cartridges are fine.) I just got it on Saturday. It looks really good, but now MP3 is about to hit. And the rest of the fall doesn't look any less busy. Gaming overdose! Who else has played these games?

Advance Wars DS is bloody awesome! I'm just too scared to try the cartridge since I put it in the laundry. I'll try it out in the next day or two. Great purchase final. Great purchase indeed.

The first one was OK, but the second one was a huge improvement. I haven't tried out the DS one, though.

I really enjoyed the one and two, but haven't played Dual Strike. Multiplayer is a lot of fun. Make sure you get your friends into Advanced Wars, too.

I bought both GBA Advance Wars the week they came out and played them like crazy. They're good but with Advance Wars DS there really isn't any reason to own them except for the campaign and then only if you got them real cheap. The DS version fixes a lot of annoying minor issues in the GBA games, has all the same units, extra modes, and many of the same maps. I sold both of my GBA games even though I only got $6 it was worth it.

AW, AW2 and AWDS are all excellent, and although the third is the best game, the first two were the best games on the GBA in my opinion.

There were of course Famicom Wars, Super Famicom Wars and Game Boy Wars, but we don't talk about those.

There is apparently an Advance Wars DS 2 coming out soon.

I have Advance Wars 2 and Advance Wars DS. By having AW2 DS in the DS slot and the Advance Wars 2 in the GBA slot, the DS version unlocks special maps. Same with AW 1. At the moment, I play AW DS on the train to work, and my son (8) plays AW 2 in his DS on the way to his activities. We both can't get enough of them. We build special maps to see if each other can beat them. Advance Wars is one of our Fav games ever - any version. Only thing that is taking time from it is RE 4 Wii - superb.

The game is incredible. I've played through the campaigns of AW and AWDS twice, plus doing all the other maps. It's got so much to it. These are great games to play on the go. Unfortunately, I was never able to find AW2 :(

I played advance wars on the GBA before I sold it.. Really is a great series. I have been hoping for a cloan to hit xboxlive for a year. I understand the psp has a version similiar.. Come on MS, there is a fan base for war games.
