Values before 1960

At least thats what I interpret it as.

If you don't know what they are I doubt you have them. Just saying.

I don't know what they are either :P

I suppose traditional 17th century Puritan American values would include burning suspect females for withcraft, not allowing sex before marriage, making woman be subservient and tend to the house, children should be seen and not heard, "spare the rod, spoil the child" ect ect

Today I think it means trying to be a "good person" but I am not positive about that.

Pragmatism, paternalism, family first. That kind of thing.

It usually depends on the context it is being used in ...

In some cases people are refering to how people no longer value hard-work, and everyone seems to have an entitlement complex.

Pragmatism - nothing too radical, take things as they come, work slowly but surely.
Paternalism - The Government should be a guiding hand, father-like, rather than the more full-on approach.
Family First - Support the notion of 2.4 children born in wedlock. Usually pro-life, anti-divorce, etc.

Also traditional values can include a more conservative fiscal policy, or a more "Christian" way of life (if you get what I mean with that).

They mean as long as your dont have sex with your sister everything else is fine.
