Forums - PC - The Last Remnant PC Demo available to download

http://computergames.ro/en/downloads/viewitem/id/13109/name/the-last-remnant-demo.html

1GB of size

I'm downloading it right now, I tried the benchmark (http://www.fileplanet.com/196372/190000/fileinfo/The-Last-Remnant---Benchmark-Utility  274MB) and it seemed to work fine, even though my PC doesn't meet the minimum reqs, I wanna confirm that the game will run (and see how good the game is). And for those that were worried about the technical problems of the 360 version, it may be worth to check if they were fixed

The Last Remnant Trial Version lets you visit and experience the first
few dungeons and towns found in the retail game.  You can also freely
change the line-up of your unions to make the most of the Last Remnant
battle system.

Well, this thread didn't go very well, didn't it?

Anyway, after some hours of downloading (damn it, Squeenix, get better servers!) I got some minutes in the demo, I can confirm it works OK on a 7300GT with some things set in medium and some things in low, which is defintely good.
I did not encounter frame drops, though I found that sometimes in the battle there seemed to be some hiccups, but that may be the transition to the attack. It's barely noticeable anyways, and it may be my PC.
Gameplay looks good, but I don't have a clue of what's going on and what do all the things mean, I hope the game has a tutorial 'cause the demo doesn't
Oh, and the demo comes with the option to select japanese voices, definitely a nice option.

Overall, it looks good, can't wait to play the full version

Bring on the PS3 version SE

I wonder if my laptop will be able to run this game/demo at decent speeds/resolutions... I mean how good is the Nvidia 9600GT??

A 9600GT is roughly equal to a 8800GT, which is the recommended card. So, if you have a good machine, you'll probably be able to run it in high settings

Well the processor on it is only about 2.26 G/hz dual core so should be alright, think i may give the demo a go anyway and see how the game feels

Updated the demo link with another, the older was broken. How can a link to Squeenix's website be broken?

Cant play the game now, gotta wait for friend to let me play it on his machine. He's playing FFXI right now lol

Some more updated impressions:

I love it. The battle system, while I still don't understand it completely, is very interesting (and, most of all, original) and there are some nice touches, like the option to speed up the battles that I find quite good. I wish I could understand some of the things that happen, but overall, it's a huge plus. The music and JP voices are excellent, and the game looks very good. There's a very noticeable texture pop-in when you enter an area, and a slowdown at the beginning at the battle, but it hardly bothers.
The game controls fine, I found that WASD+Mouse button+Mouse for the camera works perfectly in the menus, the maps and the battle screens.

Overall, the only thing I need to know is how's the story, but if it's good, this can be an excellent RPG. I give this demo a 9/10
