Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Live 3.0: What do you expect?

I'm expecting them to put out a Home service, obviously called something different, but copying the basic idea.

Also, a price rise of £10 a year, whilst introducing a lower costing 'contract' that doesn't provide all the features.

So the best the 360 can do is copy a Sony service that hasn't really taken off yet, AND raise the price?

Interesting non-biased analysis there!

What do you mean hasn't taken off yet? Plenty of people use Home.

With more games being intergrated with Home, people will see it become more and more popular.

MS will realise that and churn out their own version.

M$ used a consultant firm to create various ideas for Live. The NXE is the result of that. They said that they researched doing a 3D environment such as Home, but decided against it for various reasons. The main one being that it was old hat.

itll be better ? :P

Something I would like is the ability to download Video Podcasts directly to the 360

If there is a Zune Marketplace integration, this would most definitely be in there.

I'm hoping they make a design decision in hardware to have a low cost processor and small amount of RAM put to one side to purely run essential dashboard items and take the load from main memory and CPU. I think the limit they currently have for the dashboard in main memory is a big contributing factor to them only being able to add so many features and is responsible for some sluggishness occasionally.

One thing I would love to see with both Live and Zune is Family plans.

We currently have 4 live accounts and 2 zune accounts to support my wife, 2 oldest sons and myself. I also have another son that will expect an account in a couple of years. Luckily I have been scooping up 12+1 cards for $30 each and stocking up. Would like a master account and have the other accounts controlled by that account. Would also like to see an easier way to have accounts on multiple 360s. Pain to move my account to 360 in our bedroom simply because we want to use NetFlix in our bedroom.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
