seems like gamerrankings should limit the entries to somewhat reputable sources.

Yea fighting games have fallen off the face of the earth.  I don't think traditional fighting games could possibly have the impact that they once did even if they release them.  Smash is a fighting game but it's quite different from traditional fighters.  I remember the old days when the saturn was so rich with good fighting games, i had the saturn extra ram cartridge and imported marvel super heroes vs street fighter and thought it was the best game ever.

I dnt care what anyone says Soul Calibur was the stuff man... it may have corrupted it's save games when i had completed the game 100%, it may have been on what's considered old hardware now... but it was the best damn fighting game everr... tekken 3 doesn't even deserve 2 be mentioned in the same breath as Soul calibur(even though it is a damn good game... all about hwaorang and Lee boyss :P)

Also of note- Goldeneye got knocked out of the top 5 by bioshock... I for one think that Tekken 3 should be chucked off the top 10 list and replaced with Half Life 2, I also believe Halo 1 shoudn't be 9th... but I don't know what should replace it...O well lets hope it's not Metroid Prime 3... Corruption has to knock Prime down a notch to beat Bioshocks review score =P Anyway but seriously you guys think Prime 3's review score will be higher then bioshocks after seeing this? Also do you think anything announced or being released soon can knock Ocarine of Time off the top spot...

P.S On the game description it says that Bioshock's average review score is 'looking to climb,' so I think Metroid is gonna have an uphill battle here... lol but at the moment it's average review score is... 100% =O


Honestly I think Prime 1 (slightly) and Halo 1(muchly) are very overrated, and I don't see why RE4 needs to be there twice. Anyways....

Thrilled to see BS doing so well. Hype often runs strong during initial release, so I take the rating with a grain of salt for now, but the fact that it's even being considered in that category says something.

Soul Calibur absolutely blew me away when i first played it back in 1998.

Correct. Nearly (if not) all games of that era have less than ten reviews.


Yeah, anything pre-internet has to be looked at differently. Some classic N64 and PSX games will sneak in , but the bulk will be from last gen. If that bias weren't so obvious (and pretty much unavoidable), I'd be pounding the table for Tetris, Super Mario Bros, Link to the Past and Super Metroid (among others).

Anyone noticed that neither metacritic or gamerankings is including the EDGE score? I wonder why.
