As far as realism goes, I have never seen a game on consoles that looks as realistic as Killzone 2 and Uncharted. I still think that MGS4 has the best looking graphics of all though. That is saying a lot considering when Uncharted was released.

Mind you they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am running both consoles on the same TV though.

DirtyP2002 - I agree with you on the fact that more realistic graphics do not necessarily mean better graphics. That is why I think that you cannot truly call the graphics of the 360 or the PS3 games "better". They are faaar to close for such a call.

Absolutely  perpride and I did say in the op that it was just my opinion I am glad you acknowledged that.

I just feel from looking at both that 360 has the edge on realism.

I have owned as high as a 360 Elite and now own a PS3 80gb. I think that once the PS3 has a more broad selection of "quality HD" exclusive games and improved online gaming capabilities, sales and reviews will follow. With that in mind, the production of more improved gaming platforms will increase due to a higher demand in PS exclusive or PS3 orientated games. MGS4 and GT5 Prologue is... and Killzone 2 will be a great base to start along with seldom others. I've owned both versions of Forza Motorsports, but I can't wait for the full version of GT5! If you compare the gaming quality of Forza 2 and GT5 Prologue, you can definately tell an improved difference in detail and realism in GT5, minus few add-on's (i.e. Lambo's in Forza 2 and damage). The full version of GT5 will definately prove the PS3 worthy in true HD gaming.

.....it is also true that the quality of gaming rendering, imagery, realism and what-not is due to the time efforts of the developers, though quality is determined by the capacity in what each OS can handle also. I'm not necessarily biased between each system... but Sony has built a reliable system that can handle larger formated software (ex. blu-ray) and I've gone through two fully cool-air exposed 360's in the time I've had one PS3. Make's me sad...

Pretty much, yeah. Anyone who goes around saying "oh teh 360 or teh PS3 has reachedz itz limitzzzz" is blowing smoke. Nasty, fanboy smoke. Lets wait till the nextbox and PS4 before deciding which console can move the prettiest images.



GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

i borrowed my friends ps3 for a bit once

(rainbow 6 is head and shoulders better on 360)

in resistance, it all felt plastic to me



Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

I agree with jesus kung fu magic and Shadowblind about the gaming developers and the effort they put into each game. Though I can't really see the 360 as being a "long-term" offered console from Microsoft. Especially with the ever-changing demand for larger, higher resolution games and multimedia in the future. Once and only "if" the blu-ray really becomes the prodominant form of multimedia storage. Than Microsoft will definately have to conjure up another way to manufacture and market their products.... When all true HD 1080p, multi-os games start being produced to blue-ray size. I'd like to see what Microsoft will come up with after. Hopefully not stay at any two thru five disc games. "To start level three, please insert disc 2 now." lol.

PS3 graphics are beyond realistic. In fact, us, PS3 owners, are thinking beyond this term. "Real" is too common for us, we are in our own league, beyond those questions of "reality" and "CGI graphics".
