What is the reason to why SO3 was so successfull in North America? Did they market it well all of a sudden?

Anyway, I dunno what to expect from sales of SO4, honestly. Current trends are that review scores dont help niche games to sell at all. And the game still has this anime look to it that isnt very popular amongst HD users.

Good marketing and it was hyped up before release.

I don't think SO4 is what I consider niche.  Persona is niche, not Star Ocean.  I'm not saying its mainstream but its more like somewhere in between.

Of all the possible JRPGs to come out this generation, I would think that SO4 has one of the better pedigrees in the West. Why? No idea. The 1st one wasn't even released here (or else I would have bought it).

I am personally expecting similar numbers to Lost Odyssey.

Me too, and I hope for the best that by the end of this year we'll have two jrpg million sellers on the 360...

It's good to see the reviews are good for the genre so far. I hope it continues. I'm really excited about tomorrow getting my hands on it.

From people who have played the Japanese version, it sounds like everyone is amazed with the battle system, but not so much with the story execution, voice acting, and animation. Tales of Vesperia's Character development and Story execution was one of the best IMO since FF IX, so I'm hoping this will be good.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
