Hackers booting people off of Xbox Live

Denial-of-service attacks are nothing new on the web, but the BBC reports that it's becoming an increasingly large problem on Xbox Live, where hackers are using the attacks to kick other players out of games. Not to get too technical, but the DoS attack basically works like this: Angry data takes your pipes from fat to skinny, so the pictures of aliens getting shot and the sounds of guns firing at said aliens can't get through them. Confusing for the common man, we know, but that's why we went to blogging college.

Microsoft says that it's investigating the attacks. Have any of you been victims?

Around the Network

This was done in Halo 2/3 as well. You just need to tunnel your connection through a pc and the the pc sends garbage to the other people in the match. It can cause people to lag out and the host to get migrated. Bungie knows when people do this in Halo 3 now and will provide swift vengence with the banhammer.

I was gonna say. This has been happening since Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow days. I actually had a person in my clan that was always host because of his fast internet. He had all these sorts of mods. When Halo 2 came out, he had a huge site with thousands of hits a day, and all he did was distribute the mods for Halo 2.

Oh god yes. Sometimes though, everybody would just lag still, and one person would be not laggy and get like 60 kills and zero deaths. I don't think bungie does banning alot although. Probably doesn't help.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.
