Forums - Microsoft - IGN Star Ocean: The Last Hope Review 8.0

I'm a Liberal by classics standards, not a conservative.

i think microsoft rushd them to copmpltete this quickly so they can get it out in japan.
They made probably a deal with Square-enix (IU, TLR) to release them during those months. The Last Remnant was supossed to be there big title for those days anyway, and Lost Odyssey was there big title for the christmas of 2007 in Japan.

Whatever, if you wanna talk politics off-topic is that way ==>

You are speculating without proof. Just are just constructing a narrative to support your own beliefs, which as respectable as they are, they shouldn't be confused with facts. Bring me hard-proof or bust.

Ah, it's nice to see you have totally dropped arguing about how western reviewers score jrpgs and about how the perception of the value of those reviews changes quickly for some people depending the platform the game was made for.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

If anything, Square was the one that pushed for the game to come out when it did - so it could garner a lot of sales before their fiscal year ended. Since they knew DQIX was going to get delayed, they probably figured that putting one big game at the end may help their case a little.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Perhaps, or perhaps not, either way it doesn't really matter anymore.

@bitmap

I'm saying that it are facts? It's just my opinion and it's what I think, and in my opinion some of those games should have been couple of months more in devolopement. IU was funded by Microsoft anyway.

The other discussion bored me and it's just the impression that you want to have.

i dont like th idea of swapping disks when u want to backtrack after completing game..........worst still to install 3 disks on hd would be a pain..........that knocks out all the 20gig owners, coulldnt they chop they chop out the 45min cutscenes into smaller sgments? il still get this game as its looking to b a good game..........it just hasnt turned out as i expected..........i think microsoft rushd them to copmpltete this quickly so they can get it out in japan.

Microsoft isn't the publisher skeeuk, nor they have funded the game; they can't take those decisions. Why do you assume this is a result of Microsoft's wrongdoing and not of Tri-Ace running short on budget?

BECUZ MICRO$$HIT IS TEH STUPIDZ OV COURSEZ :P

OT:  stickball: I'm wondering if Sqeenix has been rushing almost every 360 game they release. Look how they've faired(critic wise)

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Star Ocean too? You are trying to pass off your own biased opinion as facts. That won't fly here, I'm afraid.

Oh, so after failed stonewalling, failed derailing, you are trying the "I was bored of it" approach? Too obvious =/

How dear.... How can I counter a guy who wants to believe that there is some weird complot towards the J-RPG's on the Xbox 360? You are boring as hell and you act and talk like you come from a sect. You just can have it that there is a majority which don''t likes some of those title's for your almighty console, and because of that your looking for excuses, and you know what that is? Fanboyism

I haven't even talked about SO4 in this discussion... The only title's that I have explicity mentioned and critized in this thread are LO, BD, IU, ES and TLR. I believe that I also mentioned in this or in another thread ToV, which based on my "personal taste", what I have heard and seen, should be a great title for me.

You just should enjoy your games and stop making excuses, but i'm afraid you are one those fanboy's who adjust his taste towards the game's that are coming to his main console at he moment.

Good job! Now you are twisting my words in order to mount a veiled ad-hominem attack!

Your cheap talk-radio tactics are clear as water, my dear friend. Listened much "La Linterna"?*

Nevermind my Wii, DS, ps2 and boot-camped windows... oh dear!

You are following the book... stonewall, derail, damage control and now personal attacks. Ts, Ts.

*"La Linterna" is a veteran (over a decade) right-wing talk-radio show, for those here who aren't from Spain.

I was a Nintendo fanboy until 2003 (when I was 15), and back then I did own a Megadrive, PS1 and PS2 next to my Nintendo consoles. It's perfectly compatible to be a fanboy from a console/ company and having others.

My experience as a Nintendo Fanboy is comparable to those people who where lefties when they where young, and later turned righties (common sense) becuase they suddenly realized that it's all bullshit. What a great Metaphor.

Hey, new avatar! This is so spanish... I almost feel like if I'm posting at elotrolado instead of vgchartz. You know, I already was listening to him while you still were a toddler. Wonderful team he made, with Luis Herrero - too bad you weren't old enough to understand what they were talking about.

You are trying way too hard to derail this to work - you need to be more subtle, sly as a fox, as they say, to achieve a succesful derail.

Still, the facts stubbornly remain to be properly challenged: western reviewers underscore japanese rpg's. Something some people do not mind when it's a playstation game, but instead suddenly decide reviewers are relevant when they are underscoring 360's jrpgs. The proof is in the pudding, as the critically panned Disgaea 3 (78 metascore) is pleasantly sitting in your game collection.
