I say this because people seem to love them as a developer but.. I never got into Gunstar Heroes and I hated Mischief Makers..

never played either, but i know a lot of people loves mischeif makers...

Somewhat overrated, yes. Certainly everything they touch doesn't turn to gold, they just have a strong, loyal following in a small genre, where their works have shown brightest

Plus Sin & Punishment 2 this year. That should start the Treasure hype train up again right quick

What about Radiant Silvergun? Ikaruga? Gunstar Super Heroes? Guardian Heroes? Gradius V?

You have to appreciate their gaming style to see the brilliance. They are not easily approachable as some other games but they payoff is always much much great.

Like take Contra 3 VS Gusntar Heroes. Contra 3 is much more approachable ...Gunstar Heroes has much longer entertainment legs due to many risks they took when making it but is not as fun when you stat playing it.

Besides treasure made so many classic games beacuse there was nothing similar when they came out.

Games like Guardian Heroes, Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga. Sure you can compare them to golden axe and Rtype...but they have so much more depth and push the genre forward more than any other games at the time...so in my opinion Treasure deseves the classic status...and then some.

The SHMUP aficionados are gonna make you burn for this thread.

No. They have been fairly consistent in making good games.
