Perhaps bcoz I can't find any gamecube games in stores any more?

Also online is a no no for me when it comes to money

then that is your own problem. This lame excuse of not being able to buy the games is a bunch of crap, as I could easily point you to copies of the game, you just refuse to buy them.

One shouldn't need an excuse for "this" in the first place. A large library of free games is obviously more appealing than a smaller library of expensive games.

What's the difference in torrenting and buying used?

As I said however, No where that I can get to have any used GameCube games anyway. I was going to get Pikmin 2 but Nintendo are re releasing it so I'll get that. It's just that there are many GameCube games that I missed and really want to try and this is the best way to do it.

The difference is: Buying a used one is legal, downloading/uploading a game via torrent is illegal. This is a fact that can't be abolished by having the opinion downloading via torrent is ok. But I admit that I don't know exactly the details of the Australian law.

Also I only realised all this like an hour ago, after a year of always checking out the gaming shops for used gamecube games and failing.. I don't really care what you think nordlead, I've wanted to play the games I missed and now I have the opportunity to.

Edit: Yes that's the downside.. It's illegal.. However I'm not hurting anyone and it's not like I haven't tried to buy used.. I'd probably still be looking for F-Zero GX for another how many years if I hadn't thought about doing this..

obviously any argument I make will be countered by some illogical argument about how you aren't hurting anyone, or it isn't like stealing a loaf of bread, or some other crap.

but as a programmer, I find what people like you do a complete disgrace. Sure I've pirated when I was young and stupid, but at least I grew up and learned from my mistakes.

EDIT: I came in here thinking maybe someone did something cool and unique with homebrew, but I should have known better...

Everyone fends for themselves. Having an entire library of games for free is obviously appealing to many people, one shouldn't necessarily have to think about the programmers or developers out there to enjoy themselves, because they are not responsible for those people. People with greater conscience may have a problem with this, but forcing that morality driven opinion is too relative to state as fact. Crossing the street when the light is red is illegal, yet many people do it as well.

I'm pirating games that I can't get any other way! How is it doing anything wrong by developers? Nintendo have finished printing the disks, they aren't going to get any more money from anybody for it.

So what's the real reason you don't like it nordlead? I pre order all my games in a show of support to developers and I'm planning on buying The Conduit, Deadly Creatures and MadWorld no matter what. Don't say I don't think about them.

This is a very different case where I want to experience a game that many have said is great and I can't find it anywhere. I'm not about to go into ridiculous arguments that have nothing to do with video games but come on...

Are the lights getting paid for shining green? :)
I know what you want to say, your comparison isn't that good though.

Again, I'm of the opinion that everyone should worry about their own paychecks. Neither of us are responsible for eachothers economic situations, and as individuals we have no obligation to eachothers well being outside people of importance to us. People with certain moralities may disagree, but morality is just that, relative, so it should not be extended as a barometer of other peoples actions outside yourself and partner.

@ Vas-y: Is Nintendo getting paid from me buying used? How about me trying to find the game for another 3 years?
