People here saying MS will want to release Forza 3 when GT5 releases to steal sales, that would actually be MS relling Turn 10 to commit suicide rather then a smart move. GT is right up there in terms of franchise popularity, a huge marketing push for Forza 3 will not change that. Also I do have to LOL at many here, people assuming GT5 will not get advertised, the crappy LBP type advertising can occur but as soon as that GT logo shows up at the end of the advert with "Only on PS3" Forza 3 is done. |
Sony's advertising I hope increases greatly as you predict. Sony are calling KZ2 a system selling game. One problem. It's 17/02/09 and I havent seen 1 KZ2 ads here in UK at all. You wanna know how many times in the last week Ive seen Lips advertised? at least 4. What makes you think they will advertise GT5 any better if they dont advertise what they call a system seller?
Here in the UK I have several of the Killzone 2 teaser trailers on sky sports and have not seen a lips advert since last year. Next I do not know where you got the "Sony's advertising I hope increases greatly as you predict" from because I never said that. Read again, I said even the shitty LBP-esque ads can be shown but the GT name at the end would sell systems.
Lastly you are accepting PR bullshit, maybe later on in life you will understand just how much PR babble.

And brands are step-brothers of PR.
Mr. "Gran Turismo or bust" RPG.

And the PS3 is nothing compared to the PS2 in popularity. So it follows that GT:5 will be nothing compared to GT:3-4 in popularity. Things aren't changing, they've already changed.
Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
