SO3's plot twist sounds a lot like MGS2's. Are the storylines of the two games comparable?

No, not at all. SO3 deals about a war between humans and an alien race in space, and what happens to a boy that's being left in a medieval planet after his parents were abducted....until that plot twist that changes EVERYTHING. It's an excellent twist, by the way

SO3 and MGS2 are being punished by gamers for being philosphical.  Other than that, the storylines are totally different.

The way I see it opinions about SO3's plot twist is mixed with one group hating it, another group that likes it even they thought it could have been better explained or executed(I would be in this group), and the last group loving it to death(which is the group you are in).  I'm not sure if the haters are the biggest group of the three but they are certainly the most vocal.
