Forums - PC - Can ConvertXtoDVD3 make Data Discs? Can it use dvd+r to do it?

I want to store 4.5GB of Media on a 4.7 GB disc. I wanted to make a data Disc, but Nero is an Asshole, and only accepts a different type of DVD... So Title says all... Can I use ConvertXtoDVD3 to make Data Discs, and if so, can I use dvd+r?

What are you burning? An ISO? An NRG? A bunch of files?

I've never used ConvertXtoDVD3. If you're just burning data (UDF/ISO9660 format), and there's no subchannel data you care about (it's not a game disc):

 - Copy the files from the source disc to a directory on your hard drive
 - Insert a blank disc
 - Build a new project in Nero and add the files to it

If you have an ISO, use WinRAR (rarlabs.com) to extract its contents and then burn the files in Nero.

If you've only got an NRG, I'd suggest using InfraRecorder (infrarecorder.org) which, from memory, can open .NRG files and will likely give you some option to extend the NRG to 4.7GB. In fact, if you're sick of Nero's crap, I'd suggest InfraRecorder as a worthwhile replacement.

Try  PrizeRebel , it could make you  rich ! I have  $15.80 USD  so far. I  love  BengaBenga' Most Wante lists.

I just use DeepBurner for making data discs. ISO's and the like can just be mounted in Daemon Tools and copied from the virtual drive. NERO's a horrible program.

I use InfraRecorder. It is free (and open-source) and is very easy to use and lightweight. It should work on everything.
