5.5 million on shelves does seem a bit much though...

The problem is there are Media Creat for Japan, NPD for the US and we sometimes have figures for Europe openly posted in the forum and I can't remember anyone complaining about vgchartz undertracking the PSP. If anyone has actual evidence to back up the claim (I just want to know where we are undertracking it if that's the case) I'd really appreciate that. I doubt Brett forgot to adjust PSP numbers, we had adjustments for most consoles during the last weeks when a viable source dissagreed with our numbers.

I'm not doubting the sources or VGChartz. Just saying that it's unlikely for there to be that many PSP's in stores and or warehouses. As others have said it's likely due to shipments to countries where sales aren't tracked.

those are production numbers combined with shipment numbers, which means they counted some units twice.

EDIT: ok I have no clue where this number is coming from. They didn't quote the 51.6m shipped number, and they have no source posted, and they don't track sales. If they were quoting the 51.6m, then this thread would expalin everything http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=58704&page=1

oh, and the wosrt thing, is that people at kotaku take the sales as fact without any source, even though the site doesn't claim to track sales.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
