Forums - Gaming - Games that need a price drop?

WIth all the games coming out lately its seems almost impossible to buy all the ones you want to play.  Which games do you plan on picking up later on during the dry spell and for less money?  My list is

Skate 2, Prince of Persia, Mirrors Edge, F.E.A.R. 2

any other good fairly recent games that I'm missing which may have a price drop by summer?

Im still waiting for Uncharted to have a price drop / become a Greatest Hits in NA

yeah I'm really surprised Uncharted hasn't yet either. My guess is that it hasn't due to it being bundled right now with the 160 gigger so Sony is trying to make it look like a better deal to get that bundle than the 80 gig and Uncharted seperatley.

In my opinion, most games should get a 25% price drop after 3 months, and a 50% price drop after 6-9 months. Some 2 year old games are still full price, sitting right beside a stack of cheap used copies a the game store.

There are a lot of 1+ year old full priced games that I would pick up, if they were cheaper. Now, I just get used, instead of buying a new copy.

I completely agree, Sony seems particularly bad at this. I've been looking around for a copy of Valkyria Chronicles. On the rare occasion I actually find one, it's still full price....you'd think for a game that didn't sell super well they'd drop the price in the hopes of selling more.

@ SuperDave

Yeah I know it seems weird. When you keep a gamefull price for that long your just gonna lose sales to pre-owned copies. Same thing with Tales of Vesperia as well. It didn't sell well at all and is STILL full price.

I would say, Nintendo games, especially LOZ:TP, it' still 50$, the game is almost 3 years old and it's full price, crazy. It doesn't need price cut, but it's way too expansive for a game that was released in 2006.

Fallout 3. $70 in Canada? Ridiculous. It's the only game consistently being sold at that price.

Folklore too. The game's been out for over a year and a half, just drop the damn price already.

whoa Fallout 3 is $70 in Canada? Thats just rediculous.

Heavenly Sword is still $59.99, as is Uncharted. Halo 3 is $39.99 it should be $29.99 by now.

I agree that Sony is terrible on there exclusive first party titles. Look what some games are going for now. DMC 4 cost $29.99, Silent Hill Homecoming is $39.99, look for that to drop another $10 in a month or two. Why doesn't Sony or MS drop 1st party games as other 3rd party companies do?
