Forums - Gaming - Why HD really doesn't matter...

"""""They are ignorant, but that does not change the fact they do want a better looking picture.""""""

I m sorry but Hus is right
I will try to summarize his point :

people dont care about the "HD" word
they dont know it very well
but they care about console power/graphism/visual
it is why there are still a lot of people buying Xbox360/PS3 console, at 400/600$ (about), even if the Wii is cheaper

Time to Work !

Around the Network

People buying PS3/360 = hardcore

Buying Wii = hardcore and casuals

Casuals wouldn't spen $600 on a gaminh system...er...scratch that...entertainment system full of stuff gamers don't need or $400 either.

==> it is not about casual or hardcore when u talk about price
it is about wallet, there are plenty of casual that just dont care about spending a lot of money for crappy game (hey the news FIFA, i buy it)

and there are hardcore that will never save money to buy a PS3 except if there are at least 10 must have game on it cause it is simply too expensive for them.

Casual doesnt always mean kid or mom
Sometime it means adult with plenty of money

Many people also buy both. I think the point is, MS and SONY relied soley on better graphics, power, etc, and they're losing. That argument sounds good in theory, but it hasn't played out in reality. Most people want a better picture, but not enough to spend $400-$600. Most people also put fun ahead of graphics, not that graphics don't matter, but gameplay is more important.

And if graphics are so important to people, why are they downloading and playing VC games by the millions??

I'm not saying that graphics and power aren't important, just that they don't influence most people quite as much as Hus would like to think, and definitely not enough to pay the steep price for those consoles.

And you can get a 'better picture' than last gen on the Wii. Just look an SMG and MP3.

Edit: This argument also completely falls apart when you concider the fact that the weakest system has won pretty much every gen. It's about games & fun, graphics are nice, but they come second in the minds of the average consumer. Period.
