Forums - Microsoft - PGR4 Has slipped to October

The highly anticipated racer has slipped from September to October 2 for NA and October 12 for PAL regions. The article also details many just-announced cars and motorcycles that will be featured in the game. http://www.xboxic.com/news/3518 This could almost be a good thing. It places the game a little clearer of Halo 3 and it slips into the recently vacated GTA IV month.

I should add that the article mentions the framerate needs improving as do some of the weather effects. This is probably the reason for the delay. They have to get it right, as its the xbox series flagship racer

Yes, they do have to get it right... Here's to hoping it is a stellar title. I've become a sim freak since Forza 2 showed me the "in-game-physics" light, but I'm hoping this one "sims" enough to make it a worthwhile purchase.

do you suppose the fact that Bioshock and Halo 3 look to be such strong titles that they felt the slip was a good idea to "make some room" for the title?

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

i think so...and even if the delay is due to other issues i think that's gonna have positive effects in term of sales both for Halo and for PGR

2008 year end sales (made in January 2008):

44.2 M 27.1 M 20.8 M

PGR is less of a sim than forza but still incredibly fun. But yeah there are loads of people that play both racers and shooters that will want both these games. By separating them microsoft makes it more likely consumers will purchase each one rather than pick one over the other

I really never knew that PGR4 was even slated for a Sept. launch till the delay. As far as I always knew, PGR4 was an Oct-Nov title.

Either way, the X360 has an insane lineup of first party games & exclusives each month:

August: Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Two Worlds
September: Eternal Sonata, Halo 3
October: PGR 4
November: Mass Effect
December: Lost Odyssey

PGR4 fits perfectly inline with their "one major exclusive per month" strategy.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
