Forums - Gaming - Why S-E don't don't bring rpg special editions worldwide?

S-E always realese their big franchises a special edition with many new content, International Versions of their FF that have even other endings aren 't realesed worldwide, Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix have many things interesting that could be great for the fans. Why they are Japan Only? S-E is afraid they don't sell well?

Pretty much, I mean your basically telling your fanbase "Hey rebuy basically the same thing with some extra content for full price again."

I mean, Japan gets a lot of those "ripoff" like deals the rest of us don't get.

Special edition bundles that somehow cost more then the system and game seperate because of the paint job, speical edition PSPs that cost more because they're painted differently... etc.

Well, the international versions of FF and KH final mixes are way more than just extra content. They add more depth to the story, in the case of the KH, and also add huge bonuses for the FF, especially FFX-2 Last Mission, it had a whole new mission that could literally take you another 100 hours to complete. It's a shame that it doesn't come out anywhere but japan, i would kindly pay full price for them. Just like i would for any RPG special edition that would come with extra content in the game.

In special cases, we do get the special editions. Such as with Dragon Quest VIII, we got all the added content like the orchestra score and added dungeon etc put into our game at the main release. But overall, we don't get all the 'international' versions of games or the added content of re-releases of games, no. Frankly because, we won't re-buy games over again. Even if they released GTAIV or Halo 3 here again with 'new weapons and levels', they wouldn't sell another million copies of it.

But in Japan, they can do the same thing with an RPG and sell a million.
