Forums - PC - DefectiveByDesign.org

Looks like this website has been around for a long time, but I just discovered it via neowin.net and thought I would share.

The website is an anti-DRM group.  The link is www.defectivebydesign.org.

they go a bit over-the-top with their campaign. Not all DRM is evil like SecuROM. Steam's DRM is friendly and a non-issue as they hav e added value on top of their own personal DRM which doesnt disallow multiple installs, downloads, uses, etc.

PC gaming is better than console gaming. Always.     We are Anonymous, We are Legion    Kick-ass interview   Great Flash Series Here    Anime Ratings     Make and Play Please

Anything that gets in the way of software I've paid for is bad. Sure, there are varying degrees of badness and 'acceptable badness', but it would be better for the consumer in every way if DRM did not exist.

The other problem with DRM is, even if it is benign, using it means their lawyers can come and sue you to death under the DMCA if you do otherwise perfectly legal and unrelated things like reverse-engineering it or making a "bot" that plays the game for you.
