Forums - General - Slumdog Millionaire is the best movie I ever watched

Went to cinema couple of days ago and left breathless - Slumdog Millionaire is an awe-inspiring masterpiece, an ode to life and unwavering strength.

Brilliant cinematography, varied music, balanced pacing, etc... It deserves every bit of recognition. I urge everyone that haven't seen it yet to direct yourself to the nearest cinema.

It is not the best I have ever seen but it is definitely up there. I highly recomend this movie.

Don't Worry.....Be Happy

Although I haven't seen the movie, it can't possibly be better than forest gump, and the ending can't possibly make you feel better than stardust's.
I'll see it when it comes to dvd though, supposed to be really good.

I have not seen Stardust, but Slumdog is definitely better than Forrest Gump, and FG is in my top10 favorite movies (no joke, Tom Hanks was perfect)!!

I really like the film, but I can understand why others may not like it.

For one, the subtitles are placed in weird, arbitrary positions...it makes for a more colorful film, but can confuse those who don't know the language.

The acting can also seem a bit lacking in some situations.

But it is a good, underdog story (it is based off a book) and a romance film as well. I highly recommend watching it.

There was no problem with the subtitles on my end. Maybe on your side the guys that wrote them weren't as good.

As for the acting, Dev Patel and Freida Pinto were a bit dodgy at times, but the guy that acted as adult Salim was spotless. Their child versions were great.

i watched slumdog millionaire few days ago it was good movie, not the best movie i ever seen, but really well made movie, i had no problems with the subtitles since i can understand hindi fine lol

I think this movie is overrated. Its good, but it doesn't deserve the level of hype it is getting.

The main character's acting is just plain awful and the movie verges on melodrama too often. There were a lot of things I liked about the movie (like the cinematography and the art direction).

Personally, I thought The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon were both better movies that came out this year.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
