Forums - Gaming - Is it wrong to want a game to bomb?

I don't think it's right to wish failure on a game. you may not like 50 cent but he has his fans and they're probably happy to get the game if it's any good. You're not the target audience for something doesn't mean you should go up in arms against it.

It's funny how many of you are supporting the OP. If I said I wished all other Halo or Mario games would bomb, I wonder how you guys would react.

For the record, I'm no fan of the guy either. I'm simply indifferent to his "artistry"

Well at least it gave me a second good thing about being really old:
1. 5% discount at the grocery store on Tuesday
2. Not having to know who the f**k 50 cent is

yes it is wrong 4 u 2 want it to fail if this game bombs then thq will probably be forced to fire several of the employees who worked on this game, and no 1 needs to be out of a job

THQ is going to layoff 24% of their employees anyway.

I don't see them putting their best workers on this game, so probability-wise they were likely to get laid off anyway (yeah I know I'm making a lot of assumptions).

edit - oh wait, the game is not developed at THQ, they just publish it.

Even the most die-hard fanboy knows that MArio, Halo, MGS etc all have something a 50-cent game does not have. Soul, and passion from it's creators... or at least, some bloody effort.

You just know that this game is a shrill, a marketing ploy for gullible players who will stand there deciding over KZ2 or Fallout 3 or any other stellar game, and this piece of crap. And it will be such a shame for gaming when they chose this drivel.

Don't forget the unsuspecting parents. I have a strong suspicion that most shovelware gets bought by parents for their kids.

50 Cent...with guns...shooting 'bad guys' in the badlands of the Middle East. Sounds like a video game version of those godawaful Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal movies from the 80's/early 90's.

This man needs an education not a game. I guess if you're a fan of his music and the hip hop genre in general than this game is probably worth a shot as it looks quite exciting from a 'shoot everyone and blow stuff up' point of view.

How do you define souland passion? I could argue that nintendo is also milking mario with the different mario things like "super sluggers", "tennis, etc because people would be led to buy it because of mario on the cover. Same could be said for halo wars and halo 3:recon. This is no different from getting people to buy a game because 50 cent is on the cover.

Just because you have an intrinsic bias against something doesn't mean others should share your values and I know fanboys who'd argue that mario and halo don't have that "soul" you're talking about.

So you guys are already calling the game "shovelware". I bet you've played it too.
