Pretty much cheaper is better, I noticed that people who tend to get PS3s tend to just want PS3s in these threads.

 

QFT. This is what I did. I wanted the 360 for rpgs and maybe halo and got a no Hard drive version. It works well for my needs  and I can pick up a HD when I need it.

if he's not sure he wants to buy a console, tell him to either get an arcade for the cheapest option, or wait a bit longer for the PS3 to be affordable.
