UPDATE: According to ThreeSpeech.com, our friends across the pond aren't the only lucky gamers expecting a demo of Killzone 2 this week, with North America also receiving the demo this Thursday. The demo, based on the first level named Corinth River, is split into two parts. The first takes you through "Beach Landing" (Helghan's Normandy?) and the second is the "Warehouse." You can also expect the tutorial to help you through each section, as we're sure the gamers who weren't lucky enough to beta the game shall need it. ORIGINAL STORY: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has announced that a demo of Killzone 2 will be made available for download on February 5, 2009. According to VG247, the demo will give players a taste of the first level in the game, featuring two fully playable sections of the stage. A tutorial sequence will also be included. Cool! It's a good week for demos first RE5 and now Killzone 2!

Yeah...if the article is true, then what exactly did I get the gamestop pre-order for?

Doesn't a demo as an incentive for preorder sound marketing-mentally-retarded anyway? Isn't a demo supposed to attrract new buyers? Why is it only being given to people already commited to buying the game?

I really need to try the demo. After watching the X-Play review, I've kind of gone meh on the game. I can't really explain why. It's probably because I've played nothing but shooters for the past month.

A demo would help in my decision to purchase the game.

The Feb 5 KZ2 demo is only outside the US. Because of the GameStop preorder agreement, NA does not get the demo for public release until the 26th.

SCEA has already killed this rumor, as reported on Kotaku yesterday.

This better be for real. PSN is finally getting some decent demos.I just finish downloading the Resident Evil 5 demo and I will download the KIllzone 2 demo first day.

lol.. well i did post it in the sony forum :P.. looks like i was wrong about that too.. but.. Every European with a ps3 and internet.. who also happens to have it connected to it can download a demo on thursday ! .. there :P should specify alright. XD
