I disagree.  I remember hearing rumors about it being co-op and there being a 2nd hero, someone possibly like Hercules, to help Kratos along.  I don't know if it's true..but a pvp multiplayer just doesn't seem likely to me as this game isn't built for that type of combat, I don't see how it could even work.
