So, I've been dieing to find out what's been going on with the former head of my favorite video game company, back in the day. I know that he formed Gaijinworks after the demise of Working Designs. The website has not been updated since it's inception. Only showing a logo of the company and a webmaster email. Emailing the webmaster gets no response.

I stumble across a recent post on VGChartz that says a new company called Gaijin Games is set to release a few games. I wonder to myself if this Gaijin Games is the same Gaijinworks. They both started at about roughly the same time.

I do a search on google to find anything on Working Designs and Gaijin. I come across an article that broke my heart. Vic Ireland is selling stuff on ebay.... and I MISSED OUT.

After seeing what a sealed copy of Chrono Trigger fetched on eBay recently, these sealed games may be a good investment. Popful Mail and the Lunar’s are solid titles, but Albert Odyssey, Sega Ages and Shining Wisdom are hard sells, and this is coming from a Sega/Camelot fanatic. Vic must’ve already sold off Vay to pay his electric bill.

This is not a good sign for Gaijin Works, the company he founded after closing niche jRPG house Working Designs. Go bid on his games and send him your money if you want to see some obscure Japanese games localized complete with Clinton era humor. Is it too late for Giftpia, Vic?"

I did a search on his sales history. His most recent sales were from last month. Looks like I'm in luck, he may have a few stuff to auction off left. He must have big closets.

The games are all new and sigend, some come with cool pins.

I love their stuff on the Turbografx CD. They were truly one of my favorites, and I think back to their games often.

Classic localizer Working Designs successor seems ready to return to public eye.

Working Designs is long gone, but their legacy of bringing Japanese classics over to America remains intact. And now they may have a chance to do it again, minus perhaps only a few Bill Clinton jokes.

Former president Victor Ireland moved on to found Gaijinworks after WD's demise, and now he's resurfaced on NeoGaf to announce that a title will be publicly announced within a "month or two" for release before the summer. No ideas on what they might bring over, but resident Retronaut Jeremy Parish suggested RPG Soma Bringer and classic-style shooter Thunder Force 6, among others.
