Forums - Gaming - Disappointments of the past couple years

Oh, I forgot to mention that gundam game for the PS3. I thought it was going to be good because of those fake ass trailers before the PS3 came out. I thought the reviews were bias and bought it anyways.... lol

Around the Network

Mass Effect - bored me to death. I have to force myself to play the game. The dialogue options are very poor (good, neutral, evil variations). There are dozens of NPCs and all I can do is ask the same stupid questions for similar answers. It doesn`t help that the NPCs don`t say anything interesting and can go on for hours. The combat is clumsy (hit percentages go well in turn based combat not real time).

Dead Rising - I had played it before, but only after borrowing it from a friend I started to hate the game.
1) the gameplay is is big pile of shit. The zombies stand still waiting for you to murder then. Sure there are hundreds of them, but they act more like background. I can run into a 100+ zombie mob with just a wood stick and kill them all. The combat itself is pretty lame, one button action, no combos (at least not with weapons) and a weak trowing attack that takes too much time too execute. The zombies die with 1-2 hits even when you are at level 1.
2) the retarded design choices Capcom made. Timed events aren`t enough to ruin a game. What really fucks this game is the time limit along with a "save your game only at the warehouse which happens to be far away from any mission objectives you will ever come across in the game" feature. Like that wasn`t enough, Capcom decided to hand us a single file to save. That way we can accidentally overwrite our save games when we make a mistake and need to reload. On the first day there will be a point where 3-4 missions appear at once and you must do all/most of them without saving, because if you travel back to the warehouse you will run out of time. The worst part is that if you save time and do them quickly you have to stop and wait for the next mission to pop up (the time is enough to stare at your TV for 10 minutes but not enough to travel to the warehouse).
3) It is impossible to read the text. It really pisses me off. Why the fuck they use voices and text on some dialogues and just text in others? The text only dialogues are usually the ones that tell you where you should go and what you should do. I don`t know what the missions are because I can`t read what they say. I can follow the directions, but when I arrive I cannot read what the characters tell me.
The game had potential, but it is ruined by bad design choices. The only way one can enjoy Dead Rising is by playing it like a sandbox game (run around killing zombies) and ignoring the main objectives.

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.
That game was horrible compared to Jak 2 and Jak 3.My first Ratchet game. Expected it to be much better. It gets boring after 2/3 hours in. It would have been more fun if it was set in one planet with many area, not around 2 galaxies. Ratchet isn't very likable for me. It wasn't good as I expected. maybe I set my hopes too high.
