well erm, wow. i have 50mbps from virgin. thats the fastest the internet gets in england. n i tgought that was fast but god. i have ran out of things to do with mine so what on earth is 1gbps for. i guess it just means you can download a film in 2 secs. meaning no big hdd needed cuz you can download it fast again

I've got 100mbps now, really like it. On usenet I can download films with 14000kps. Still I wouldn't mind even faster internet.

Korea is a small, cramped nation, where 1/2 of people play an MMO. It isn't as hard for them. Maybe New York will get 1 gbps though.

Well here in Sweden you can get a 100 Mbps connection for 320 sek a month ($38), including phone service.

Sorry I fixed the amount, actually 320 sek / $38. I don't think it's government owned, because Telia (the part-government owned operator) doesn't offer it AFAIK.

For people who don't have access to those ethernet ports at home, you can get ADSL 24 Mbps for about the same price. You can get the same in Portugal for around the same price.

I live in a little village in the UK and I gets 8mbps. Methinks we'll be getting 50mbps within the next couple of years, though.
