Forums - Microsoft - Any news on Boku?

I wanna make 3-D game levels on my 360.  I heard about it in November but I haven't heard of it since.  Anyone?

Boku is now known as Kodu. It's coming out on XNA in a few months.

Thanks. If this is MS's answer to LBP, I better get it. :)

It's not. These are visual steps to learning a real programming language tailor made for children I heard. It's not merely a level creator/editor. If you want something LittleBigPlanetish I suggest you invest in a PS3 and LittleBigPlanet.

No doubt... people comparing this to LBP really piss me off. It's a programing language aimed at children and people who have never coded in their life. It teaches you the aspects of coding so if you do persue that in one of the more complicated languages you'll know the process of making a game.

I don't think its for Children, though it was originally intended for that. By showing in the videos that a child can create their own game, they are emphasising how easy it is to use and accessible for all ages. Personally speaking, I work as a software developer and I am interested in it

Is there cost associated with it? or will it be free *parish the thought.

I thought XNA from the beginning was dummed down coding for dorm room college kids. Now it gets even easier, nice.
