Forums - Gaming - Why haven't I heard of Burning Rangers?

This has to be the best opening theme to ANYTHING.  Game, anime, sitcom, cartoon, whatever.

Pixel Art can be fun.

lol...well i have it. Good game for the time but graphics will hurt your eyes at this day and time...

Wasn't commercially succesful so we won't see a Wii port sadly.

I see.  I'm not bothered by Saturn graphics but.. I don't have one so I guess it doesn't matter.  Anyway, why can't Sonic Team make more original IP's like this?  Take a break from questionable Sonic games and do something original.  Also LOL at Wii port.

Why haven't you heard of Burning Rangers? Here's my theory. You're quite young, for starters. It was released late in the Saturn's life. From what I remember, it almost didn't get a North American release due to the Saturn's dire market situation. I also think that it had a very limited release in NA, with around only 50000 copies made available from Sega. And finally, the game was being forcast by many in the industry to be "the last great Saturn game" and had a fairly high profile before launch. Unfortunately, for the most part, Burning Rangers did not live up to expectations, and garnered a fairly tepid response from reviewers.

What's this?  Sega wins again!

And again!

Ahh, it was indeed a glorious theme. I remember how it was made available as an in-game soundtrack for Phantasy Star Online, as a disc that you could use, and then it would change the music in the area to that song. Such fun times we had, slaughtering monsters and listening to that glorious theme

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Pretty sure there were special events that had this music playing in the background. Putting out fires in the forest levels or something along those lines and saving people. PSO - good times.

Playing: InFamous, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, Modern Warfare 2

IMO music soundtracks went down hill in the last 2 gens. Games are moving towards the motion picture style of soundtracks...which is fine. But before they were putting really kickass songs in to games.

The only reason why Sega CD should be justified as a console that was worth buying is the fact that a lof of those CD games had amazing songs and soundtracks. Games like Robo Aleste (also known as MUSHA), Final Fight CD, Sonic CD, Android Assault...had AMAZING quality songs.

Edit: I mean compare Final fight Arcade with Final Fight Sega CD. Sega CD music pwns the arcade hardcore.
