Forums - Gaming - Which studios do you support?

This is a vague question. Now, allow me to elaborate on what I m trying to ask. Last generation was interesting. The PlayStation 2 dominated the industry considerably while it's competition sold a decent amount of hardware. Of course, as gamers, we're not all to interested in hardware aspect of this industry but of it's software. Let's face it: software sales hardware. The point I'm trying to make is; as I look at the plenty of games that I purchased for the PS2, rarely do I see first-party software in my collection. All of the software belong to third-party developers yet, in this gen, I'm actually more stoked for sony's first-party software now than ever before. So, who do you support more this generation? First-party [exclusives] or third-party [exclusives, multi-plat, etc]. Also, has your support changed since last gen? Discuss.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Guidelines to understanding my train of thought:

  • THE METAL GEAR SOLID FRANCHISE IS THE BEST THING TO HIT THE PLANET SINCE THE PS3!! THUS, MGS FRANCHISE >> SLICED-BREAD.
  • Solid Snake shall and well always shove 1up mushrooms up Mario's ass.
  • Solid Snake shall and well always decimate Master Chief with a flurry of rocket launchers, shotgun rounds, and a 20 minute monologue.

Bioware - Great games, period.
Blizzard - Not console, but my favorite developer nonetheless
Bethesda - Good games and I worked there for a short while. Automatically on list!
Epic - Amazing technology

That's about it.

Good news Everyone!

I've invented a device which makes you read this in your head, in my voice!

Atlus, Nippon Ichi and Namco (for Tales of).

The Team ICO games are the only first party ones I have from last gen, I think. This gen I've bought more first party games but they are pretty far from being favourites, and I don't have my eyes on any upcoming ones.

Nintendo is a big one for me, this gen and all the other (excluding me having genesis), it also appears activision and Ubi have seemed to catch my gameing eye.

Development houses? Specific studios/teams?

If it's houses, then Nintendo and Sony first and foremost, with Konami a bit behind because of Kojima Productions.

If it's teams, then I support these studios, in this order:

Ejie Anouma's Zelda Team (Nintendo EAD Group 3, I think)
Kojima Productions
Team ICO
Media Molecule
Naughty Dog
Sakurai's Smash team (some part of Nintendo, I dunno)
Super Mario Team (EAD Group 1?)
Mario Kart team
Sony Santa Monica
Insomniac Games

Though Guerrilla Games may get added to this list soon. :)
