Forums - PC - Team Fortress 2: Scout to feel the love soon

Via: Kotaku

"A post on the sporadically updated official Team Fortress 2 blog reveals that the gameplay update for the Scout class is only a few short patches away from hitting the servers.

Valve's Robin Walker explains that the coding team has already moved on to the next class update, with only the final art needed to make the upcoming Scout update complete. Here's how things should play out.

We've got an update that should be out tomorrow with a bunch of bug & exploit fixes. Later this week we hope to have another update out that changes the way we store your unlockable items. You shouldn't notice much difference, other than if you play on multiple computers we'll now propagate your item choices. You can think of that update as the one that moves your inventory into the Steam Cloud. Once that's out of the way, we'll be able to ship the Scout pack.

I am filled with glee! The Scout is definitely my best class, and by that I mean the class I die the less as. I can't really measure my success on kills. I'm that bad."

I'm pretty excited for some more updates that further enhance the TF2 experience. Be prepared for an influx of scouts in servers, along with achievement maps to start popping up again!

Great news, even though the Scout is not my favorite (except for some Arena maps).

Neither is it mine. I'll play it sometimes, but I usually stick to sniper and spy. Though I tend to play in 2fort the most and sometimes Dustbowl.

I also can't wait for when they'll do more "Meet the ____" videos.

No love for the Soldier? :( in the beginning it was my class of choice, then I thought it was too slow for what it was and now I just use the Pyro and sometimes I pick other classes for the lulz. if he had some new weapons or something like that maybe I'd start using him again....

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Pyro and Soldier for me, with the occasional Scout/Medic and more rarely Engineer or Sniper. I only use the Demoman in some specific situations where after dying I think a few well placed grenades would help. The heavy is too boring.

I'd like to play better as Spy though, maybe I'll start practising that one.

They may be slow.... but damn those critical rockets.....

I was on the other day (XBL) and I was the only one playing on Earth. No one is on anymore...

What are you talking about? It probably has over 500 people playing at once!

On the console version though, I find it impossible to play sniper.. So I usually stick with the nooby classes: Engineer, and pyro. Although I have dabbled with the heavy, soldier and demoman. The people usually don't speak, or are douches. But ocasionally, you get a really kickass game, which reminds you why you stay hooked. Oh, and killing noobs in non-ranked is always entertaining.

EDIT: oh, I think Pyro should be slightly nerfed.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... Hey! I posted this over a month ago! Nobody reads what I say :(

I'm mostly a Demoman player though... So this update could be a living hell for me.

Well, I'll just go engineer then :D

Oh, and I do by no means find Pyros overpowered. As a demoman, they're generally just free kills. Medics should take them 1 on 1 (I do) Soldiers are in for an even match, Heavies should kill them. Scouts are really the only class that should lose in a fight against one.

Engineers, snipers and spies are a bit hard to talk about (as they aren't really meant for 1 on 1, and should lose to everyone)

You may be annoyed when a pyro comes up to you and kills you, but as a pyro, you'll fail to come up to the person around half the time.

I hate it as a spy when a pyro is spraying  his flames around like a mad man when all of a sudden, a little bit of it touches me while I'm invisible and BAM, everybody is onto me.

A spy unlockable should be a glass of water they can pour on themselves to take away the flames.
