This article is awfully low on details. It doesn't even say what technology this is based on. How do we know it's not an OLED panel?

Casue bravia line is LCD and not OLED?

I thought Bravia was for all their TVs.

I found a slightly better article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1130085/Pictured-The-TV-thats-thinnest-thing-sliced-bread.html

The name of the TV is apparently Bravia ZX1. It's a 40-inch LCD. Impressive!

thanks ,,, added your link to OP.

$3700 before tax (assuming they price it the same as in the UK). It appears the TV can also receive a HD signal wirelessly:

OLED tech is the best and the future. When u see them side by side with normal LED and plasmas, the other 2 look plain dull and blury. they have 1,000,000:1 contrast super black (compared to 3000:1), 0.000001 milliseconds (compared to 10/20) and millions more colours! Definitely my next TV.

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.

MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD

I would hardly buy such new tech... It's better to let other people test it for me for two or three years ;) At that point it will be cheaper too.

@luisgvm: 3000 British pounds, not euros. In euros it's like 3200 € right now.

Its are in british pound so usually mulitply it by 2 and thats how much it cost in us dollar roughly. Might be more than 1 pound to a 2 dollars now so i'm unsure and having something like this out in the market atm isn't really great which so many people losing there job and cutting back on spending where a tv like that is a luxury.

I TAKE NO SIDES

I love this TV:

@SpartanFX: Look at this one from Samsung:

Thinner than paper

The trick with the new bravia is that the backlight is at the side.... Nothing too difficult to do so it should become cheap quite soon....
