Forums - General Discussion - How are the Uk & USA still rich countries , will they be in future ?

Some one mind explaining with some background info and maybe some predictions for the future , countries like China seems to be experiencing crazy growth whilst 16 years of borrowing in the UK is coming to kick us in the backside (and I didn't even borrow a penny) . The west doesn't seem to be offering to much in terms of output I know for certain that a large % of the UK economy is in the tertiary sectors , whats up ?

My understanding of global economics or any economics is pretty basic so bare with me.

China's economic growth seems explosive... but as their economy grows they are going to have a large set of problems to deal with themselves that are going to cause them plenty of problems.

Right now they're getting by with using the old marx philosphy of putting rich people near rich and poor near poor.... but once people start filling their basic needs they get other wants and desires...

Basically there is a reason why most dictatorships are in poor countries.
