Forums - Gaming - Capcom: RE5 can still “loosely be considered a survival horror game! BOOO!

Survival horror is another genre that is almost dead. Looks like gaming companies are making good sellers not good games. I don't care about RE because I have never liked it, but I care about video games .

Even Doom had some horror to it! These days GoW, KZ2 and games like that, lack that scary part that I always enjoy. Also.. Resident Evil 4 was way to repetitive. The Castle section was to long and boring. They should have made the game shorter. The game got better again late in the game, with the island section, research lab and all.

I actualy did liked the castle section..the lab part was the one that I found a bit out of place but it was nice.

I think that RE4 would have worked better if they stick to the town/outskirts areas. But well variety is the key I guess ^^

Am I the only one that is having the HARDEST time with this demo???  I mean its like UBER hard.  I thought it would be easier with co-op but we'ere STILL getting whupped.

Spoilers:

I had a hard time with the first level before I realized I didn't actually have to kill that big guy. It's enough to survive for a while until the helicopter comes.

As for the second level, I haven't passed it yet. Got killed three or four times by the guy with the chainsaw.

I agree that the demo is quite hard. I wonder if these levels are in the beginning of the game! If they are, this game either has no learning curve or the last few levels must be really really hard.

Who cares if it's nothing like the old Resident Evils when it's so much better?

RE4 gaves the series what it desperately needed. Decent gameplay. I play games to have fun, not to get scared.

Naysayers: watch this and STFU! http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44537.html?type=

You can't ask us long time core Resident Evil fans to STFU. We are entitled to voice our opinions, especially considering the topic at hand. RE0, REmake, RE2, RE3: Nemesis and RE Code: Veronica X are classics! We are the majority. Resident Evil games have sold millions and millions of copies since the mid-90s (that's way before RE4 arrived)

Btw.. I recommend the 'slow moving', but exciting 3D railshooter "RE: Umbrella Chronicles".
It's not scary like the core games, but it is actually a hardcore Resident Evil game and you play trough
RE0, REmake and RE3 (and Umbrella's End) from a different perspective. Quality game. Just buy it. :D

Oh man I can't wait to get the demo. Me and a bud are going to be co-opping it up. Oh, and R.I.P. old RE style games blah blah blah, you will be missed. Now bring on my fast and fun gameplay! WOO!

CIHYFS?

I like how resident evil 4 plays, but I wanna feel scared, and I wanna feel like I'm fighting for my survival.

Booo!

I agree with yu OP.

Wow, if they kept it this way, RE4 would have been much scarier! :D
