I still think of the "default" controls described in this thread being (1.2) Solitaire.

I prefer legacy as well, though until the last thread I never knew that was the name. But it has been a while since I've played with that layout, as I've adapted to default in the games that don't have the option and so I usually don't bother switching in the games that do. The next time I'm playing WaW with my buddies I'll have to give it a try again. Also, the default Conduit controls sound very interesting. I'm not sure how well the Nunchuck tilting will work for accurate strafing, but with full customization available it can easily be mapped elsewhere. The customization also allows the IR pointer to really be a HUGE improvement in quick and precise aiming over an analog stick. Some earlier games have already done a great job with controls while others have failed, but only full-customization allows every player to perfect their aiming style. |
It is as accurate and responsive as a control stick, if not in fact more accurate (and very slightly less responsive, but not noticably by humans) The main difference is whether you can get used to it, and from experience with SSX Blur where you steer the board with it, it is very intuitive and easy to pick up... even my dad got it (though he struggles with the rest of the game like tricks etc)
And I don't think you will have the option of mapping strafe anywhere... customisation can only go so far before it is silly, like there is not going to be an option to put strafe on the A and B buttons.... From watching the video I am pretty sure the "remote aiming" maps the strafe to the control stick. While the nunchuck has steering mapped to the controle stick. The problem is we can't be sure where strafe is on one option.... logically to me it must be on nunchuck tilt, because unless they took it out there is just the d-pad left, which is needed for other functions and also would be really awkward.

I prefer Default. The only game I've played with the Wiimote is Quake homebrew, and that sucks donkey balls.
