There are actually situations in which I would rather have a Wii remote than a mouse - they're both specialized for different tasks.

Now, now. There is an argument to be made for analog movement versus digital movement in many contexts.

I agree, it was the "more than 4 directions" and "aiming" that had me laughing out loud.

Well I can't really argue with that.
Dual analog's primary advantage is just... I don't know, actually. I suppose it's just very comfortable for many people.
Eh!

Most of them yes but I don't agree with the whole thing.
Mouse is easier to play but keyboard sucks cause it lacks the analog side of a controller.
Now, I prefere a realistic behaviour inside the game and the controller is closer to that :IMO When you look at a pc-player session, it gives a headback cause it is ultra-fast. It has a robocop-like aiming precision... and it ain't very realistic .
I looked at the TF2 tournament final (on PC) and it is the typical example.
Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.
I think Anolgue sticks have the edge when it comes to the 3rd person though ...where a combination of good movement and accuracy is neccasery.

This I agree with, I'd take dual analog over KBAM for third person shooters any day of the week, but the discussion is about first person.
I play most of my FPS on the PC (only for the mouse), but I'm not against the console FPS at all. I've already preordered Killzone 2 for example. I played Deus Ex on both the PC and the PS2 and I enjoyed it on both platforms (well, it's more a RPG than a shooter...) I played the first killzone which was OK and timesplitters was a good series.
gameplay: PC
popularity: consoles
Funny how the fps genre is best known as a console thing now.
The mouse and keyboard is sooooooooooooo 1980's, get with the times lol. (joking),
