Forums - Sony - Killzone 2 officially spotted in TV ads yet? I may of seen it.

Nope.  Not at all.  That's the point I'm trying to make.... I can't get hyped without good advertising, and if someone like me who actually goes to forums and learns about the game isn't hyped as much as I should, why will the average Joe consumer be hyped?  The answer is they won't be hyped unless Sony picks it up.

Also, I believe the labeling of "savior" was first given by PS3 fanboys, hence why I "quote" it rather than just state it in a normal sentence.

I'm not the only one who is shocked and dissapointed with Sony advertising, so you can all calm down and join my cause rather than accept Sony's slacking attitude lately.

Why do you personally need advertising and exciting ads to govern your purchasing decisions?  Why not do some independent research and make decision on yourself.  Who cares if a game sells a ton, if you like it.  Games are supposed to ENTERTAIN you, not give your life meaning in how they sell so you can talk smack to others.   Anyhow, go track down the special on the making of Killzone 2 and see if the game is for you or not.  And who cares about advertising.

The advertising issue would be for people who are concerned about sales as a hobby (I raise my hand as one of these people).  But no way am I going to let advertising be the deciding factor for me.  Make me aware?  Yes.  But not to get me pumped.

^^^i think Killzone 2 will get its own advertising

If Resistance 2 did, then Killzone 2 should also.  I would expect the advertising to start early February at the latest.  Dueling ad for ad with Halo Wars.  Will be kinda sad if Halo Wars gets more advertising than KZ2 though.  But, it might happen.

I never said anywhere that ads were the sole reason for me buying the games I do.  I even mentioned that I browse the internet and forums and have learned much about the game this way.  However, the initial high that I had for the game has died down because I haven't seen any cool new trailers that make me go "WOW!"  I'll get the game regardless because of what I already know, but the main thing I keep trying to say and everyone keeps missing is that Sony really needs to up their game when it comes to advertising.... ESPECIALLY when it comes to a game that they need to succeed as much as Killzone 2.  The average Joe consumer is NOT like you and I, and does not go online and learn about a game.  These people will not be hyped or even made aware of this game, unfortunately, and it's Sony's own fault at this point.

Unless you are cheerleadering for Sony and your esteem is based upon where they place in the videogame business, not sure why ou need to concern yourself with how Sony promised KZ2.  If it is just for you, watch the half hour special that was put up on the web, see the reviews and make the decision yourself.  These are companies trying to make as much money as they can, selling devices to play games.  If it is seen as more than this, then your emotional state of being will be upset.

Anyhow, if the trailers don't do it, and the special on KZ2 doesn't, then maybe KZ2 isn't for you.  I am impressed by the graphics and what is out for it.  I don't need to buy KZ2 when it comes out though, and I can wait.

@richard

did you see this new KZ2 review:

Hobby Consolas (Spain) :9.4/10

PROS

-Best graphics on consoles

-Best fps since Half Life

-Innovative Multiplayer

-Varied environments

-campaign length as much as 15 hours

CONS

-no co-op

(they gave halo 3 9.1 )

hopefully this game can stay above 90 when all the reviews are done.

early reviews(12 reviews) suggest that the game is not just about pretty graphics.

I have seen too many early reviews overly hype games. GTA4 would fit into this category. I would want to wait and see like around April, after the dust settles, where KZ2 ends up.

You need to read more carefully because you are entirely missing the point...

I never said anything about "how Sony promised KZ2."

Please read the bolded and italicized part.

I would wait until a week before the release of the game to see any sort of ads.
