You should be able to , is it not loading at all ?

   Every machine can give you achievements and trophies, that was just catch up (ditto for in game XMB).

   The point is that the firmware update differentiates the PS3 as the only console with such capabilities AND solves the primarily dilemma of many who, like me, have no cable (but do have a cable modem).  For those not paying 50 bucks for basic cable being able to watch anything directly on the TV from the PS3 is huge.

    I do also like trophies, but its not like that does anything but bring the PS3 up to speed with the 360 TBH, full screen flash goes beyond the capabilities of every other media device I own other then one of those 1000 dollar media center PCs.
