I thought the full screen flash support would be limited and weak as most internet use on the PS3 has historically been. I have totally been proven wrong and couldn't be happier.
They understated how much of a change this was. One key example is www.pandora.com which will make a playlist out of whatever song/artist you put in. A few months ago I tried to get this to work to no avail (kept memory crashing on me) but now? Flawless! I can finally run Pandora through my home theatre effortlessly without plugging in my Iphone and dealing with reduced sound quality!
Next I tried another site that has failed over and over again, my favorite site, hulu.com. I found that I could navigate relatively easily (a little slower then on my mac obviously, but quite passable) even with a keyboard/mouse if I use a wireless one. I was able to watch 4 episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia flawlessly and full screen to boot! They advertise youtube when your PS3 boots up but that's the tip of the iceberg. All the shows on hulu, CBS.com, theCW ect seem to work on the PS3 which means no watching them on your computer monitor or trying to figure out workarounds. I bet anything once netflix finishes their mac compatibilty (which seems like it might be flash based) it will work in the browser as well (it already works with an external PC to PS3 transfer program you can download).
This update has gone a long way to making the PS3 the difinitive media device. It plays almost every video codec including Divx, plays every media type from CD to SACD to DVD to Blu-Ray, works as a media server and much more. With this flash update there is literally nothing I can think of that I can't use the PS3 to watch which is such a change from the hodge podge of solutions from hooking my laptop up to my reciever to using a slingbox I've had to deal with in the past.
