Forums - Gaming - Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is the best anime-based video game

I didn't have room to put it in the title because the name of the game is about forty characters long, but I'm going to further elaborate by saying that this is true of the Wii version of the game.

And this is, of course, assuming you are a fan of the series.

No other game replicates the best part of its own series so fantastically. You will look stupid playing it but the fun factor is absurd.

Anyone have games they'd rather throw out in response?

I'll say budokai 3, way more fun, at least for me.

Which one is that? Is it the one that's actually a fighting game?

yeah before Tenkaichi, it was on ps2.

I never much liked that one, it didn't really capture the feeling of having fights from the show. It lacked the scale, the pizazz!

Could you even blow up planets?

I would disagree. Gungrave Overdose would be the correct answer in the world of Onyxmeth.

No.
You obviously have not played Bleach:Versus Crusade. It might be shorter but I still find much better in gameplay and satisfying to a fan then DBZ. It also has enough characters without a stupid amount of re-hash character like in DBZ.
Its also stupid to count Early and Mid Goku as different characters.

Bleach is the fastest fighting game I have ever played with everything happening in REAL-TIME. Its amazing. Plus Bleach:VC online connection runs circles aroound Brawl and murders DBZ 1 frame a second online play.

Damn thats sounds harsher then I intended. I come in PEACE.
I enjoyed DBZ when I first got it but now its a pretty boring game after playing Bleach:VC and Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Traditional fighting games are not good answers - part of what makes DBZ:BT3 so stupidly entertaining is that it captures the mechanics of combat within the series without holding onto any pre-established genre forms.

I can entertain parties of people with this game.

This calls for a Youtube-off, if anyone wants to prove me wrong.

Budokai 3 captured the true feel of DBZ fights especially the Dragon Rush sequences. Also Ultimate Ninja Storm is hands down one of the best Anime games we have ever seen it truly has captured the feel and intensity of the show.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Ghost in the Shell (PS2) was amazing. other great ones are Fullmetal Alchemist (PS2 and DS) some Digimon games (many systems) Lupin the 3rd (PS2) Inuyasha, Medabots, tons of other anime games.

Ghost in the Shell is simply the best tho.
