Presentation. It's presentation that ups the cost my large amounts. I've noticed that the games actual code hasn't noticibly increased over 20 years for PC games. They can be anywhere from 100kb - 15mb of game code. The rest comes down to various middle ware which can bump code size up from 1mb to 50mb. Depending on much and how big.
So it comes down to what you see. Higher res textures, uncompressed and more orchestrated sounds. It's all the presentation elements that raise the cost.
WoW 12mb(Total 10-15gb)
And Yet it Moves again 2mb(15mb)
Mount & Blade 4.3mb(1gb apx)
The first number indicates the main.exe file the bracket represnts the games total size. Notice how M&B is only 2 times bigger than AYiMA, but uses vastly greater amount of resources.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
