YEah it would bother me very much, but wouldn't care after a few days.

The most reliable consoles are Nintendo ones. I've never heard of any problems with their consoles except for when you need to push the cartridge in a little harder due to the age of the machine.
I remember my Saturn and especially the Dreamcast giving me hardware problems. The PS2 was notorious for it's disc read error.
I think that would kind of suck, you know not having a new system and all.
Sounds scary
Ain't no rules in the jungle, if there were I wouldn't be here!!

Its a sony thread with potentially bad news for sony, i was bound to turn up lol.
Just like the sony fanboys do when theres an RROD thread or 360 exclusives of 09 thread.
Yes i would care. Many people seem to forget that the people in the gaming division are just that.....People! Many would lose there jobs and that makes economy as a whole even weaker. Many view it as a sinking ship however, look at the wii (while i hate the idea of it) nintendo was last for 2 seasons then did a major come back.
Now apart from all those poor people losing there jobs, personally imo I beleive that the PS3 has the highest qaulity console this year. Aside from price tag and being a year late, it's a shame to see such a good product be tossed aside. I would like to see what's next as every year they do so much better at giving me exactly what I'm looking for. Don't get me wrong i have dipped and dabbled with microsoft, but for 2 generations now I have preferred a Sony console.
CURRENTLY PLAYING: Warframe, Witcher 2

I'd be very worried.
Just like without MS competition Sony could become a danger, so MS could without Sony. Nintendo hasn't many divisions as MS and Sony, so it must earn from HW and SW, left alone against MS it could be damaged by MS blows under the belt like selling HW with heavily loss leader price and heavy moneyhatting.
Three strong competitors is the magic recipe for consumers' interest.

I don't mean to intrude in this conversation, but isn't this the same reason why so many people dislike Microsoft? Using money to force their way into the gaming industry and gain an advantage over their competitors makes Microsoft an "evil corporation"...yet it's OK for Sony? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

i dont hate microsoft because they are using money to force their way to gaming industry. why would you hate the company because of that? when you are load of money spend it.
it's more possible that we will see Sony shuting down every other division than SCE.In long term PlayStation is the most profitable part of Sony.
Yes, because in that situation great but unfortunately not that profitable prestige dev teams like Team ICO could be axed and budgets for projects could take a huge dive, which certainly could negatively influence production values and in the end enjoyment of the titles.
