Forums - General - Favorite song of 2008???

I know I'm kinda late but who cares...

For me I genuinely can't pick one so here are my top... 4

Genesis -by- Justice

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ThKNt-GY1ww

An incredible electro track often overshadowed by Justice's more popular tracks like "D.A.N.C.E" and "We are your Friends" its also ridiculously sexy to hear mixed live.

The Chariot -by- The Cat Empire

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=v-VOB8ajbzY

I have this jazz, ska, funk, latin (the list of genres goes on and on) group down as the band I would most like to see live out of anyone at the moment, and I don't see this track leaving my recently played list on iTunes in the next 3 years.

A-Punk -by- Vampire Weekend

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_XC2mqcMMGQ

Whenever this track comes on you cant help but smile, a happy, bouncy rhythm which always brings my mood up! I had the chance to see these guys live but had to miss out as I was ill :'(

Time To Pretend -by- MGMT

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=f9GH-yvPHSY

Often seen as a 2008 anthem and definitely a summer anthem at least. Unfortunately their live act wasn't as great as their songs, I'm pretty sure they were tripping balls while on stage too.

What were your favourite songs of 2008???

P.S I know a couple of songs on my list were released in 07 but I really got into them in the most part during 08  : )

Edit: stupid embedding didn't work but i highly recommend all those songs to anyone.

Coldplay "Viva La Vida" is probably the best song of 2008.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

^^ great song too, never thought Coldplay would make a comeback.

Circus - B Spears

Although 99% of music since 1990 is garbage, pure garbage. The music died when the 80's ended and the 90's said hello. Since the 2000's its just gone to shitown on a s**ttrain.

Really? You think Britney Spears had the best song of last year?

Yes, but thats just my taste. I mean, what would you expect from a guy with a sig such as mine. I probably epitomize bad taste to 99% of people.

I think music has just hit a major turning point in the last couple of years, sure if you just look at the mainstream stuff on the surface you will mostly get all the pop idol, x factor, popy crap but dig a little deeper and you will find a thriving underground music network.

If you stay narrow minded only liking The Beatles and Red Hot Chili Peppers then don't expect to be spoon fed music you like, youv gotta broaden your tastes and start appreciating the masses of groundbreaking music being released.
