atleast we can live with the satisfaction (Well my generation)

that by the time we come out of university n get jobs the economy is most likely gonna be booming!

There is no certainty to that ... for all you know it could get worse .... and worse ... and worse.

Nah. Obama will have things straight by next Thursday.  You can quote me on that.

Unfortunately you're right. However Sony is one of the most troubled companies these days (the only clearly more affected segments I can think of are banks and automakers).

I agree that it's bad, but its never as bad as they make it. Companies are cutting jobs, and Sony is targeted by the media first.

Besides the sectors I mentioned, I think you'd be hard pressed to find another company which has already planned to lay 10% of their staff and analysts still saying it's not nearly enough. Then consider Sony's huge debt and comparatively low cash reserves.

Seriously, Sony is not being victimized. It truly is a troubled company these days.

Right, because the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Bloomberg all hate the Playstation.

Please spare me the media is biased against Sony, because in the business world Sony is a company just like all the others.

I'm just saying it seems that they are biased against Sony, let alone Playstation. Why aren't you seeing tons of other articles pop up about other companies losing jobs? What about microsoft? Weren't they supposed to cut jobs, why didn't we see a thousand articles about that?

I do see articles about Microsoft. But Microsoft still makes money. They don't need to make the kind of changes that Sony does.

Sony is in deep shit. That's news. It will get reported.

Microsoft not making so much money is news as well, just not as newsworthy as Sony completely overhauling its business.

Damm thats really bad news for all those people the economic crysis is really hurting and it isnt not just the game industri but everything.

well this will definitely cut spending as now they have all their TV plants in India and other cheaper labor countries.
