When I got dumped flatout the first time, I vented everything to my current girlfriend, which ultimately made me go out with her.

Everything happened last night and we were both very emotional so I'll talk to her again today and see if everything is permanent or if we can work through it all. I'm hoping for the latter.

There's also the idea of the-grass-is-greener-on-the-other-side.

If you give an impression as someone who she can always return to, you will always be the second choice.
She'll try someone else, if that doesn't work, she'll come back to you, knowing you'll open your arms to her.

Also, by the way you describe how your relationship started. It sound like one of those easy come easy go.

Talking about relationships is not my specialty. Getting dumped however...
Ok, it's all about expectations, from my experience. When you start to get comfortable with people you automatically create expectations (that counts for friendships too), and that's when things go downhill. You should always expect the worst from everybody you know, that way you won't get hurt/disappointed as much.

More like: love is a (bitter)sweet illusion.

 Yea it started out as a rebound for me but it grew into something so much better. But I will talk to her today and if we arent together then we're done and I'll be back to trying to pick up the pieces.
