Forums - Sony - Killzone 2 marketing predictions

I predict actual good marketing like LittleBigPlanet. Resistance 2's marketing was god awful. I only saw 1 resistance 2 ad. I live in America by the way so that's probably why.

LBP's marketing was okay, not good.

Resistance2 didn't even make the screen here.

MS2 did sometimes, but mostly the "PSP, whole world in your hands"-ad.

KZ2 should at least get a LBP marketing, at LEAST.

I saw enough of the Resistance 2 adds. They wern't very good, so whatever.

I don't think any game had great marketing this holiday season, LBP, RES2, MS2 were okay, Fable II and Gears 2 were average, and I didn't see any Wii advertisments besides an annoying Animal Crossing one.

Anyway, it's best to keep expectations low.

LBP's marketing was GREAT. It's basically the main commerical me and my friends see. It's dying down a little though

The commercial itself is not that good. It is a tad weird, but at least it shows what LBP is capable of, although it doesn't show it to the best of its abilities.

Marketingwise, it could've been a hell of a lot better. Compare it to the wii-commercials that flood the screens over here...

I predict an occasional killzone2 advert, its sony, lets face it, they wont go out of their way to cram our screens with ads

Killzone 2 is by far the easiest title for Sony to advertise and that too fantastically, now the question is that do Sony actually want the game to sell or not? We have seen with R2 that Sony do not like making money.

I predict Sony drops the ball again in marketing. Last year Scott Steinberg, when talking about RES 2 going toe-to-toe with Gears 2 and KZ2 was still scheduled for 2008 basically blew it off as a secondary title, and I'm not convinced that anything has changed. KZ2 will get mediocre marketing and it will noticeably affect sales in the short term.

it costs money to market games as well.
