uhm i didnt know soo many people care that much about forza.
all am saying is that multi disk for something that will launch in the future sounds all, am not attacking forza fans( i didnt know there were so many).

Oh and to those saying an install is a bad thing yada , yada, i wont answers because i dont like flame wars.

multi disk sounds old no matter the game.

This multi DVD vs Blu-Ray debate has been more embarassing to PS3 fans than to 360 fans really. Remember when people were mocking a potential MGS4 360 version saying it would need 5 DVDs?

Remember when later it turned out that there were multiple mandatory installations on the PS3 version, which took longer than to switch DVDs would? I don't think we should go down that road any further.

When did GT2 release?

I also think it will be odd that forza 3 will release with 2 discs (how would they divide the content between the 2 discs?). Have there been any screenshots for forza 3?

I can see oh so many flame wars ignite over comparisons of these 2 games.

the installations in mgs4 definitely bug me but it's better than not having the game at all. Also, MGS4 is not like the majority of ps3 games that require ongoing installations. In fact the games I have a quick installation at the begining or an option to install or just play the game off the disc - I opt always to install the game because it makes load times much quicker (e.g. valkyria chronicles).

Who cares if multidisks sound old? Is there something wrong with that? Resident Evil being survival horror sounds old. FF VII remake sounds old. Uncharted taking a lot of inspiration from Pitfall and Tomb Raider sounds old.

You sound like someone that wasn't even gaming at the time. Multidisk game were a gigantic badge of honor and an effective marketing tool. People back then weren't praising RPGs for how few discs they could cram them into. They were praising them for how many discs long they would end up being. Two discs were better than one disc. Three discs were better than two discs. Four discs were better than three discs. MGS, RE2 and GT 2 all benefitted from being on multiple discs because there was more game in them. Maybe games in the old days just had a better mentality that more game was worth the burden of getting off your ass and switching discs every ten hours or so.

Also FYI, I don't give two shits about Forza. It's just as boring as GT is. I posted in here to stop the spreading of misinformation which started all the way from the OP.

Maybe he's balancing out all the negativity directed towards the ps3...usually by 360 fanboys...

Umm.  MGS4 probably uses the HDD to stream data at high speed, which it couldn't do off a DVD or a BD.  A HDD would be mandatory for such a game.

Also, be careful you don't bump your 360 when you switch DVDs (no bumpers, you know... scratch city)...  in any case, the multiple disc thing is funny, whether you like it or not.  Its an acceptable solution, but it still sucks compared to a single disc, no matter how you look at it.
